Quality license and market control

The Quality License and Market Control Department is responsible for:

Implementing policies governing the supervision of market controls.
Inspecting factories, warehouses and retail outlets and verifying records to ensure legal compliance.
Issuing licenses for promotional and retail discounts; Monitoring retail outlets offering sales and discounts to ensure discounts and financial records are legally compliant.
Issuing relevant licenses for promotional offers on commodities and services.
Monitoring prize draws and distributions.
Issuing relevant licenses and monitoring brokerage businesses.
Supervising auction activities.
Conducting studies related to commodities, services and materials, analysing prices fluctuations, proposing mechanisms to correct prices and preventing unjustified price hikes.
Processing departmental customer complaints.
Studying and evaluating prices of commodities sold and services provided in the markets.
Studying the requests for price increases on commodities and services presented by suppliers.

1. The Special Licenses Section is responsible for:

Processing new sales permit applications and monitoring existing sales in retail outlets.
Processing new sales promotion applications and monitoring retail outlets that have been granted permission to carry out prize draws and distribution of gifts.
Processing license applications for the real-estate sector.
Preparing reports, statistics and comparisons related to specific licenses.

2. The Prices Evaluation and Follow-up Section is responsible for:

Processing requests of supplier price increase.
Studying and evaluating prices of commodities sold and services provided in the market.
Researching and developing improvements for the pricing of commodities, materials and services.
Developing and reporting on mechanisms preventing unnecessary price increases.

3. The Field Monitoring Section is responsible for:

Monitoring the market to ensure compliance with ministerial policies.
Inspecting factories, retail outlets, and warehouses to ensure goods are priced legally and fairly
Conducting facility inspections and price control campaigns.
Monitoring the market, price increases, special licenses and processing complaints relating to them.
Monitoring prize draws and supervising prize distribution.
Conducting market research and providing policy recommendations.

4. Central Markets Section is responsible for:

Monitoring the central market to ensure compliance with ministerial policies.
Monitoring of auctions carried out in the markets.
Regulating central market entry by issuing permit cards (i.e., wholesale merchant, retail)
Issuing compulsory price guidelines for fresh produce.
Researching and preparing reports related to the central market.
